The Flood Warning continues for
the Cache River near Patterson.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 10.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will remain near 10.3 feet through Thursday
evening before beginning to fall.
* Impacts at 10.0 feet... pastureland and cropland not protected by levees
in Jackson and Woodruff counties affected. Water is deep along the
shoulders of State Highway 18 near Grubbs. Water over portions of Woodruff
County Road 775 north of State Highway 260.

... Flood Warning extended until Sunday evening... the Flood Warning
continues for
the Black River at Black Rock.
* Until Sunday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 15.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast... upstream water will casue he river to rise back to near
16.5 feet by Thursday afternoon before falling again.
* Impacts at 14.0 feet... farm ground along East Bank floods.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... low lying cultivated land and pastures in
Lawrence, Jackson, and Independence counties flood.

record. The previous wettest may was in 1990... with 18.08 inches.

May 2015 has also been the wettest month in 100 years /since August
of 1915/... and is now the wettest month ever recorded. The wettest
months at Mena are listed below...

2. Aug 1915 - 18.81 inches
3. May 1990 - 18.08 inches
4. Mar 1945 - 18.01 inches

... Record rainfall at several stations in western Arkansas...

Rainfall amounts have been excessive to even extreme this month in a
large part of the state. The highest amounts... however... have been
in western Arkansas... and in Polk County in particular. Many
locations have experienced record rainfall for may... as well as the
climatological Spring. At two stations... may 2015 is now the wettest
month ever recorded.

At Mena in Polk County... 19.74 inches of rain has fallen this may.
