... Blowing dust advisory in effect from noon until 8 PM MST this
evening...

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a blowing dust
advisory... which is in effect from noon until 8 PM MST this
evening.

* Impacts... blowing dust can restrict visibilities below a mile
posing a significant hazard to motorists. In addition... strong
and gusty winds will likely suspend dust into the air that
people and animals breathe. Individuals with heart disease and
respiratory sensitivities may want to reduce their level of
exertion to limit the dust they breathe into their lungs...
especially if they are near dust-prone locations. Those most
at risk may feel better of they avoid outside exercise today...
keeping windows and doors closed to help reduce exposure.

* Timing... southwest winds will increase today... especially by
around noon today and will continue into the early evening
hours... before tapering off shortly after sunset.

* Winds... southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to near 40
mph.

* Visibility... visibilities may intermittently fall below 1 mile
in blowing dust.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A blowing dust advisory means that blowing dust will restrict
visibilities below one mile in some areas. Travelers are urged to
use caution. If you encounter localized dense blowing dust...
especially near plowed fields or construction sites... do not
drive into it if at all possible.

this evening for for strong and gusty winds... low relative humidity
and a very high fire danger for fire weather zone 151 including
eastern Pima... southeast Pinal... Santa Cruz and western Cochise
counties...

... Red flag warning now in effect from 11 am to 8 PM MST Friday for
for strong and gusty winds... low relative humidity and a very high
fire danger for fire weather zone 151 including eastern Pima...
southeast Pinal... Santa Cruz and western Cochise counties...

* Timing... noon through 8 PM today. 11 am through 8 PM MST Friday.

* Winds... south to southwest 20-ft winds of 15 to 25 mph with
gusts between 35 and 40 mph Thursday. Southwest 20-ft winds 20
to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph Friday.

* Relative humidity... daytime minimum relative humidity values
today will lower to between 5 and 14 percent. Minimum relative
humidity values Friday will range between 8 and 15 percent.

* Impacts... any fires that develop or are ongoing will have the
potential to spread rapidly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or are expected to develop. A
combination of strong winds... low relative humidity... and dry
vegetation will create the potential for rapid and erratic fire
growth.

field of the red flag warning for portions of Southeast Arizona.
