the Flood Warning continues for the shoal river near Mossy Head (cr 1087).
* Until late Saturday night... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:30 PM Friday the stage was 14.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
central Walton County in the Panhandle of Florida...
this includes the city of De Funiak Springs...

* until 645 PM CDT

* at 1238 PM CDT... radar indicated a band of moderate to heavy rain
over central Walton County. Rainfall for the day so far has been
in excess of 3 inches... and an additional 1 to 2 inches is
possible through the remainder of the afternoon. Flooding is
expected to gradually develop through the remainder of the
afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Areas of standing water... or flooding along streams and rivers is
expected. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to
recognize the dangers of flooding. Most flood deaths occur in
automobiles. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roads.
Remember... turn around... don't drown.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
northern Walton County in the Panhandle of Florida...
western Geneva County in southeast Alabama...

* until 545 PM CDT

* at 1145 am CDT... radar indicated a band of moderate to heavy
rainfall over northern Walton and western Geneva counties. This
band was showing little movement. Rainfall for the day so far has
been in excess of 4 inches in this area... and an additional 1 to 3
inches is possible through the remainder of the afternoon.
Flooding is expected to gradually develop through the remainder of
the afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Areas of standing water... or flooding along streams and rivers is

The Flood Warning continues for
the Choctawhatchee River near Bruce (sr 20).
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:00 am Friday the stage was 15.3 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 17.9 feet by
Wednesday early afternoon then begin falling.
* Impact... at 16.5 feet... major flooding occurs along the east and
west banks of the choctahatchee river from near the confluence with
Holmes creek to the Gulf of Mexico affecting many homes and fishing
camps.

... High surf advisory remains in effect until 2 am EDT /1 am CDT/
Saturday...
... High rip current risk remains in effect until 8 PM EDT /7 PM
CDT/ this evening...

* location... Panhandle and Big Bend beaches.

* Surf... increasing to 3 to 5 feet today along the Panhandle
beaches with a few spots to 6 feet along Walton County. Big
Bend beaches... 3 to 5 feet today.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore. If you become caught in a rip current remain calm and
swim parallel to shore. Once you are away from the force of the
rip current... swim back to the beach. Do not attempt to swim
directly against a rip current. Even a strong swimmer can become
exhausted quickly.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.

during heavy rain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood or flash flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to
flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop. Please do not driver through flood areas.
