Expires 10:00 PM EST on November 18, 2017
... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 8 am this morning to 9 PM
CST this evening...
* timing... gusty southerly winds will occur ahead of a cold front
into mid morning, then even stronger northwest winds will occur
in the late morning and afternoon, after the front passes.
* Winds... peak values of 30 to 35 mph can be expected during the
morning. Then gusts will increase to 40 to 45 mph at times in
the afternoon and early evening.
* Impacts... those traveling early for the Holiday week may find
travel difficult on east-west highways this morning and then
north-south highways this afternoon and early evening. In
addition... any gusts in the 40 to 50 mph range could cause tree
limbs to fall, which could lead to a few power outages.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or higher are
expected and wind gusts of 45 mph or higher. Winds this strong
can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Use extra caution.
