... Gusty winds to create elevated fire danger Wednesday...
A deepening surface low pressure center moving east across
northern Illinois Wednesday will produce strong southwest winds
across the quad state region. The winds will gust 30 to 40 mph at
times. This will cause some loose objects to blow around, such as
Christmas decorations. Motorists may find vehicles difficult to
handle in open areas exposed to the wind.
In addition, the strong southwest winds in combination with dry
vegetation across the region will create an elevated fire danger.
Conditions should improve significantly with sunset.
