In 1951, a complex of severe thunderstorms plowed around
200 miles from Kingman County to southern Missouri with
Wichita the hardest hit. Prolific hail producers, the
severe thunderstorms caused around $14 million damage to
roofs, windows and countless vehicles.In a few areas,
the hail accumulated 1 foot.
