Blizzard Warning

Statement as of 9:50 AM MST on February 22, 2018

Expires 8:00 AM EST on February 24, 2018

... Blizzard Warning in effect from 6 am Friday to 6 am MST
Saturday...

* what... ground blizzard conditions expected. Winds gusting as
high as 45 to 55 mph over the plains, with gusts as high as 70
mph in wind favored areas will cause whiteout conditions in
blowing snow. Significant drifting of the snow is also likely.

* Where... northern Rocky Mountain front, eastern Glacier and
southern Rocky Mountain front.

* When... from 6 am Friday to 6 am MST Saturday.

* Additional details... plan on very difficult to impossible travel
conditions. Roadways prone to drifting snow will likely become
impassable. Drifting snow may trap people in homes and strand
travelers on roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Blowing snow with strong winds and poor
visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions,
making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must
travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded,
stay with your vehicle. The latest Road conditions for the state
you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
