* Risk of rip currents... high.

* Surf height... 4 to 8 feet.

* Tides... low tide occurs this evening... high tide occurs
overnight... low tide occurs early Wednesday morning and high
tide occurs early Wednesday afternoon.

* Impacts... dangerous surf and beach erosion.

* Outlook... the threat for dangerous rip currents will likely be
high for much of the remainder of the week.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

There is a high risk of rip currents. A high risk of rip currents
implies that wind and/or wave conditions will support the
development of very strong rip currents. These rip currents will
be life threatening to anyone who enters the surf.

If you become caught in a rip current... Yell for help. Remain
calm... do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current... swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.
