... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from noon PDT today
through 9 PM this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of California and western Nevada... including the
following areas... in California... greater Lake Tahoe area...
Lassen-eastern Plumas-eastern Sierra counties and Mono County.
In western Nevada... greater Lake Tahoe area... greater Reno-
Carson City-Minden area and Mineral and southern Lyon counties.

* From noon PDT today through 9 PM this evening

* strong thunderstorms are forecast to develop this afternoon.
These storms will be capable of producing heavy rain and
increase the potential for flash flooding this afternoon and
evening.

* Much of the region has a higher potential for flash flooding due
to the very heavy rainfall over the last two days. Rapid runoff
may occur with only moderate rainfall totals today.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Areas at greatest risk for a flash flood include burn
scars... locations impacted by flash flooding Sunday and/or
Monday... poorly drained urban areas and locations near steep
terrain. Mud... rock and debris flows may impact travel... never
attempt to drive through flood waters.
