Oregon Coast Range... the north Oregon Cascade foothills... and the
South Washington Cascade foothills...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Winter

inches... Cascade foothills 2 to 5 inches.

* Ice accumulations... up to a quarter inch of ice is possible
Thursday morning.

* Wind... strong east winds locally gusting to 45 mph along the

some blowing snow.

* Impacts... travel will be difficult as some brief snow
accumulations change to sleet and then freezing rain and roads
become snow and ice covered and slick.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

Statement as of 7:18 PM PST on December 06, 2016

Expires 11:00 AM EST on December 07, 2016

... Some roads likely to be icy tonight and Wednesday morning...

The coldest night so far this season will allow temperatures to
drop into the 20s for much of southwest Washington and northwest
Oregon tonight. Enough moisture lingers near the ground that roads
and sidewalks may become frosty or icy overnight... resulting in
some slick spots tonight and Wednesday morning. Secondary and
untreated roads will be most susceptible to becoming icy.

Use caution if planning on driving tonight or Wednesday morning.
Black ice can be difficult to spot at any speed... and can cause a
vehicle to lose traction with little warning.
